From the trailer, naah, as soon as it was announced that Sajid was doing the remake of Himmatwala starring Ajay Devgn, we knew it was going to suck and badly.
Overconfident Sajid with his mindless can't-even-call comedies and the 2-expressions Ajay Devgn combination proved to be too lethal for the audience. Supposedly the film's earnings for the first week is around 25-30 crores according to trade analysts but it has plummeted due to negative feedback.
The film was panned universally and now no one wants to see it due to the risk of harming themselves.
The movie is so bad,it makes you cringe and swear at yourself. It is the perfect example of how to make a trashy remake. Makes us wonder whether Sajid intended on a remake or a spoof.
Even as a spoof, it does not evoke laughter. Not even unintentional one. Correction, the song Nainon mei still makes us laugh as Ajay painfully tries to dance around the painted dolls.
Ajay Devgn who God knows how survived in this industry with 2 expressions, lacks everything and does nothing new. Tamannah, overacts more than usual, tries hard to be Sridevi and dances and prances around, again nothing new.
But, Sajid has attained newer heights of absurdity! You'd think maybe Bollywood is done with stereotyping but no, Spoof of Himmatwala teaches us,
1. Rich girls are snobs.
2. You have to tame rich girls by insulting them.
3. Girls can't defend themselves. They always need the guy to come save them.
Something tells us, he will outdo this in the future.
For someone who boasted that he knows the audience's taste and wants and that the film will cross the 150 crore mark, it sure is a big slap of reality.
No Sajid, we are not dumb douches who want to waste 3 precious hours of our life by watching your trash worthy torturous films.
